Foreign (and Domestic) Care: a performance

The city depicted in the exhibition "A Century of Mobilities: The Cities Within City" (curation: Christos Chrysanthopoulos, Eleni Kyramargiou & Olga Lafazani) is shaped by the multiple arrivals and departures of its inhabitants throughout the 20th century. It is also shaped by the invisible ("informal") domestic labor of both local and foreign women.

This ephemeral exhibit is based on the testimonies of Albanian migrant women who arrived in Greece in the 1990s. Erón, Maria, and Anna—each with different migration stories—form shared narratives.

A "man" is seen ironing in a distinctive audiovisual narrative. He listens to a popular podcast featuring stories of Albanian migration, while the projection presents aspects of his own experiences, creating multiple temporalities.
