Archives of the Municipality of Mykonos

In 2010, I began my professional journey on the island with my first project contract for the classification of the Historical Archive of Mykonos. This was part of the research program "Documentation of the History of Settlements in Greece, 15th-20th Century", conducted by the Institute of Historical Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, under the scientific supervision of Dimitris Dimitropoulos.

Many people have contributed to reaching this moment. In addition to those mentioned above, special thanks go to Giorgos Gasias (countless working hours alongside Stefanos Vamiedakis and Eleni Papamakariou), Andromachi Marouda, and Vallia Rapti. And of course, our mentor, Christos Loukos.

Thirteen years later—back again, hoping this time that the archive will finally find the space

it deserves and attract the attention and questions it warrants. Believe me, it is a treasure trove of information about Mykonos' agricultural and pastoral life in the 19th century, all the way to the first steps of tourism development in the mid-20th century.
